Girls night. Denver, CO. Brown Palace Hotel. — The last time our mom stayed the night at the Brown was in 1974, the night she and our dad got married. They could afford one night for their short honeymoon as dad had just gotten laid off from his job at the meat packing company shortly before their wedding. What an honor it was to treat her to a return to one of the, if not the greatest hotels in Denver.
It’s old, beautiful, dreamy, sophisticated, comfortable, the list goes on… The lobby itself takes you back to a time long ago when people dressed up daily, treasured the art of conversation, and appreciated the finer things in life. Never had we been offered a glass of champagne upon checking into a hotel. We graciously declined, but that is the way they operate at the Brown Palace.
Our room on the 6th floor was quite amazing… We entered to a long hallway that led to a large room with two queen beds covered in white duvets. Vaulted ceilings, a large ceiling fan, and a Keurig coffee machine made the room that much more appealing… We were all in awe of the spacious two room bathroom which allowed 3 women plenty of room to get ready in the morning without stepping on each other’s toes. The bathrooms held both a large bath tub and a lovely stand up shower complete with a rain shower system.
The entire stay was quite enjoyable to say the least… If you get the chance to sneak away for a night this Christmas, you will not be disappointed with the Brown or it’s surroundings…
((***Photography note: If you love to take photos and don’t currently own a wide angle lens, do yourself a favor and spend the money for one. Not sure the Brown could be fully appreciated without one.))
