The Lake District (Keswick & Carlisle)

Keswick21

The Lake District… Words are hardly enough to describe the beauty of this great land… We caught a train from Paris to London and then high tailed it to Euston Station to catch our Virgin Train up to Carlisle where we would spend the next week with family and see different places in the Lake District — we loved Keswick so much, we saw it twice…

The 4+ hour trip from London to Carlisle was one that I will not soon forget… I highly recommend taking a train trip through as much of England as you can… Virgin Trains are high speed, affordable, clean, and quite comfortable — and the scenery you will see is out of this world…

I think the northern part of England must be where many wrote their story books from – did you see the movie “The Holiday?” Yeah, you could totally picture that cottage in the Lake District)… The beauty makes you feel as though you’re in a movie or that you’re finally living in a fairytale world… So romantic… And the stone walls that are out in the fields, yeah, they really do exist and they put a smile on your face – so wonderful… They don’t call it the “Lake District” for nothing either… There truly are tons of beautiful lakes that you can hike to and around… If you love to be outdoors, you will not be disappointed with a trip there… Just be sure to take your “wellies!”

From the people, to the scenery, to the food, to the rain… I loved every minute… Such a glorious place…

There’s so much to say about this part of England but this time, I’ll let the pictures speak for me…

Only one more blog left from our September trip to Europe… France is next…
